Open House for New Civic Center
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – March 8, 2005
OPEN HOUSE DISCUSSION OF NEW CIVIC CENTER
Public Invited to Ask the Tough Questions Wednesday Night
The public and media are encouraged to attend a civic and convention center open house event. We’re inviting the town. Join Mayor Mark Begich, architect Larry Cash, and visitor bureau president Bruce Bustamante, this Wednesday, March 9, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Egan Civic & Convention Center.
Please feel free to announce this event on radio, television and newspaper. Live television interviews can be arranged.
Mingle with speakers, civic center “Yes” proponents, and inquiring voters to discuss ballot Proposition 2 -- the April 5th ballot question on a new Anchorage Civic & Convention Center.
The early evening event begins as speakers make introductory comments, then join the public in a conversational atmosphere without podiums or microphones. Campaign volunteers and staff will also be on hand to field questions. Take advantage of this golden opportunity to get your questions answered.
Look out for ballot related information about the planned parking structure north of the Atwood Building. Browse building layout posters and floor plans. Review routes for covered corridors between the Egan and PAC. And find out more about how this can all be done without property tax revenue.
Be sure to drop by our web site for additional information. The site features frequently asked questions, third-party economic analysis of the project, architectural illustrations, the complete finance agreement with the city, endorsements, news, and opportunities to help the campaign.
Give us a call at (907) 770-0994 or drop by the campaign office storefront. We're located street level in the 5th Avenue Mall parking garage, 245 W. 5th Avenue, Suite 128.
